Don Lawson papers, 1882-1990.

Correspondence, books by Lawson, book reviews, research files, biographical materials, playbills, photographs, and other papers of Don Lawson, a Chicago author who wrote non-fiction books on historical and political subjects for young adult readers. Also present are some papers of Lawson's wife, Beatrice Lawson (Beatrice Yates before her marriage to Lawson). Reseach files relate mostly to the Civil War, World War II, Korean War, and Vietnam War. Photographs are chiefly reproductions of images related to wars, but also include some personal subjects. Also present are playbills from Chicago theater products (ca. 1950-1990), as well as photographs and infantry papers of Conrad Grass (1882-1893), inherited from Lawson's mother's family.
